Director-Richard Cousins

After making a series of promos for broadcast channels Richard Cousins’ award-winning career as a commercial and television promotions director was launched.

Over the years Richard has honed his own brand of visual storytelling and now prides himself on his ability to craft a distinct sense of mood and place for each new project, no matter what the subject.

His client list has included brands such as Ford, Barclays, British Gas and Prudential whilst with BDA Creative and he has established himself in the world of sport with clients such as Sky Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports.

His passion for cinematography combined with his visual inventiveness has seen him win thirty awards, four for ‘Best Director’. These awards include the Shark Advertising awards, Promax awards and the London International Film awards. In 2011 Richard won the John Brabourne ‘New Talent’ award and Best Director at the San Francisco Short Film Festival for his first short film ‘Trailing Dirt’.

Producer-Arif Hussein


Award winning Film Producer Arif Hussein began his career in the industry studying acting at Mountview Theatre School. After graduating he founded the Alma Mater Theatre Company which toured the UK, Europe and the USA. During this time he began directing, producing and writing plays.

In 2001 Arif set up Kaos Films which runs and manages the world famous British Short Screenplay Competition (BSSC), now in its tenth year, and the British Feature Screenplay Competition (BFSC). Kaos Films also has a long running relationship with the National Film and Television School offering it's graduates a Bridge into the Industry.

Arif has written feature screenplays for Scala Productions, Knights Productions and Ghost Films. His short films have been screened in festivals around the world such as Cannes, Venice, London, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Rhode Island and Palm Beach and have won numerous awards.

 

Writer-Gareth Rothwell

In 1987 at the age of seventeen Gareth enlisted as a soldier in the Army, originally serving in the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) as a vehicle mechanic. In August 1988, Gareth was posted to Lemgo in Germany where he was attached to the 2nd Battalion the Irish Rangers, where he stayed for several years.
After coming back to the UK and having served five years in the REME he transferred to the RAM C, Royal Army Medical Corps.  He was then posted back to Germany to 3 Armoured Field Ambulance in Sennelager. During his time with the RAM C he traveled to Canada, Poland, Cyprus, Kosovo and Bosnia three times. Gareth finished his career on October 5th 2005 after eighteen years of service, leaving the forces with five awards:

UN Bosnia (UNPROFOR )
NATO Kosovo (KFOR)
NATO Bosnia (IFOR and SFOR) with bar

 



Director of Photography - Alan Stewart

Alan Stewart is a Director of Photography with over thirty years experience within the industry. He is best known for his work on both Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes films and Shekhar Kapur's Elizabeth films as well as the award winning Television series Band of Brothers and most recently Joe Wright's Anna Karenina.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 




 

 

Line Producer-Lotte Riddy

Lotte has over ten years experience as a freelance producer; within that time she has produced various projects ranging from commercials, promos, documentaries, live studio and brand identity films.
Her work has taken her to most continents and within most mediums;regardless of the budget/brief she is working with, ranging from the "substantial" (drama 200+ crew and cast/international shoots) to the "not-so" substantial, she always delivers in an unflappable manner, with a large proportion of her work recognised and awarded within the industry. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Production Manager-Leyla Caglayan


Leyla has worked for BDA Creative, a London based creative agency, for the last two years. During that time she has helped to produce a wide range of promos, branding campaigns, documentaries and commercials.




 

 

 

 

 

 

Richard Ward - Production Designer

Richard Ward has been working as a Production Designer/Art Director for many years during which he has worked on numerous award winning Promos and Commercials for the BBC, Tomboy Films, Discovery and Disney and also the short FIlms .357, Guilty By Nature and Trailing Dirt.
Richard has worked on a number of projects with Art Director Paula West under the name AllSet.

Paula West - Art Director


Paula West has been working as an Art Director in commercials, promos and sponsorships for the past 8 years. She has also worked on a number of short films including Trailing Dirt with Director Richard Cousins and Production Designer Richard Ward.

Paula and Richard Ward have also collaborated on a number of projects for clients including Disney Channel, Channel 5 and MTV.

 

 

 

 

 

Annie Rowe - Casting Director

Annie Rowe is an emerging freelance Casting Director with a passion for promoting and championing actors via groundbreaking new writing.
She trained as an actress at the NYT and RADA before becoming a freelance Casting Assistant in 2007. In 2009, Annie started casting independently and in 2011 she gained Probationary Membership of the Casting Directors' Guild of Great Britain.
Annie is thrilled to be teaming up with Richard Cousins, Victoria Lynn and the team at BrotherBrother Films again having cast the award winning short film, ‘Trailing Dirt’ for them in 2010.

Peter Booth - Editor


a senior creative/editor at BDA Creative London for 13 years. He was responsible for creating effective and engaging on air promos, sales tapes, MIP reels, sizzle reels and b2b communications for broadcasters, distributors and blue chip companies. He was also responsible for maintaining the high standard of creative editing produced by the promo team at BDA and for the training and development of junior creative's editing and promo making skills.Clients included MTV, Discovery Networks, FremantleMedia, ESPN, Revolver Entertainment, Momentum Pictures, ITV, NBCU, Barclays, Disneyland Paris, National Geographic, Warner TV, Jetix, Foxtel (Australia), Channel 7 (Australia) Paramount Comedy.
Peter is currently working as a freelance Creative/Editor, delivering arresting and engaging on air and off air communications for both broadcast and non broadcast clients. He has also edited two award winning short films in recent years, links to which can be found below.
